Don’t forget your Companion Registration offers you access to all conference coffee breaks, the Monday evening Welcome Reception, and the Tuesday evening Awards Reception that will include heavy appetizers and cocktails.

I hope you will accompany us on these tours and see how much this area has to offer: its majestic natural beauty, its rich history and breathtaking landscapes. Surely your will need to register early, as seats on the tours will be limited.

A variety of ornaments were used to adorn different parts of the body. Leaves and flowers were used temporarily during dances and festivals whereas others were more permanent, utilizing feathers, shells, seeds and even wood.  Today, the fragrance of the fresh flower lei excites the malihini (visitor) upon their arrival to the islands.  The kamaaina (local) tradition of presenting flower leis is practiced on birthdays, anniversaries, graduations of any personal special occasion.  Flowers are strung through the center or sides one by one with a long needle attached to thread.  Kept refrigerated, the flower lei can be used for several days.
